Hang Out in Bessey Creek
DLIA is organizing a dedicated team of 8 individuals to monitor macroinvertebrates (aquatic insects) in our largest tributary, Bessey Creek. The data collected is used by Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council's stream monitoring program to evaluate the health of the stream and thus the water flowing into our lake.
The commitment would entail 4 hours of training Sat. Sept. 12th, 4 hours of collection Sat. Sept. 19th, and an optional identification session at NCMC's science lab on Sun. Oct. 4th. Waders are available if you don't have any.....a great learning opportunity!
If interested, please contact John Kafer at jkafer@gmail.com or phone / text 231-330-4079. Thank you!
