Volume 1, No. 1

Dear Members and Friends:

Welcome to the Global Philadelphia Association's very first newsletter. Since the beginning of 2013 alone, the Association has experienced exponential growth, and this newsletter represents another big step forward. It happens to coincide with the planning of our first very public initiative, GlobalPhillyâ„¢ 2013, an international exposition that the Association will be holding in the fall.

This fall, GlobalPhillyâ„¢ 2013 promises to deliver a month and a half of events and activities of immense value not only to our Members, but to the population of the entire Philadelphia Region. So, for starters, this and succeeding newsletters will highlight the exposition and its events.

More broadly and over time our newsletters will tell the story of a great international city that is only beginning to realize its full global potential.
Regardless of your background, generation or industry, you don't have to look far to discover the international pulse of the city and feel its rich promise of cultural diversity and global experiences for our region. Global Philadelphia Association is privileged to be your guide as you Discover the World Here!

Welcome Our New Members!
Note from our GPA Team
We know that if time allowed, we'd spend full days coming up with new ideas for how to make Global Philadelphia Association better and more cutting edge. There is an ocean of international connections still waiting to be revealed in Philadelphia, and that type of potential is nourishment for Global Philadelphia Association. A question we are frequently asked is if we have modeled our Association on that of another major metropolis, and the answer is “not to our knowledge.” With the assistance and generosity of our Members, we are successfully putting the spotlight on Philadelphia as a thriving global city, moving step by step. After all, Philadelphia is a place of firsts, and we are proud to be carving out this new road.
In three short years, Global Philadelphia Association has gone from roughly ten members to over 100. That number continues to rise. If you are interested in being part of the international conversation happening in Philadelphia, we encourage you to visit our website at, become members of our organization, and discover just how global Philadelphia truly is and where you fit into the Association's mission.
