Are the Robots Coming for Our Jobs?
Professors Rick Netemeyer, Ahmed Abbasi, and David Dobolyi, together with market and opinion research specialists Ipsos Public Affairs, created a wide-ranging study of American attitudes on automation. As reported in Wired magazine, the results reveal conflicting consumer perspectives about automation’s effects on the job market, online services, and other potentially disruptive tech.

International Interns: Keeping Clients Happy in Madrid, Lisbon, and Singapore
Three McIntire students gained invaluable experience interning with global marketing firm Tinkle last summer. A Call for Community Voices to Upend Racial Division and Wealth Inequity
Professor Bevin Etienne and his team of University colleagues and Charlottesville city councilors have been awarded $25,000 from UVA’s Flash Funding program. Their “New Vinegar Hill” project encourages a community-based conversation for building a vibrant and economically successful mixed-income neighborhood. Read more »

As hacking becomes an increasingly cheaper and easier undertaking, we asked the former Cybersecurity Coordinator for the Obama administration what businesses can do to protect themselves against cybercriminals. Alumni Give Students Honest Advice about Making the Most of Marketing Job Opportunities
Commerce Career Services’ 2017 Careers in Marketing Forum brought a long list of successful alums back to Grounds to discuss the many pathways to a successful marketing career. Panel discussions and breakout sessions covered everything from analytics to start-ups, and alums provided actionable suggestions about finding rewarding positions in the industry. Read more »
