Inda Cares, Inc.

Issue 2. April-June 2014

Inda Cares is so pleased to have so many supporters that believe in our vision to uplift and empower children in Angola.  In this issue you will find information about our KIP Campaign, our Hospital Supply Drive, and ways in which you can help our organization  continuously improve and grow!  We hope you enjoy the read.

In our last issue we were seeking people that could volunteer their stories so that we can share how resilient and amazing Angolans are.  If you, a friend, or a family member have a personal story to share about growing up in Angola, experiences you had in visiting, and/or any story of resiliency and pride (pre, during, or post war) please submit your stories to us.  We want to honor those who contributed to the uplift of the country and share the true spirit  of Angola with our supporters.  You can email your submissions to

Knowledge Is Power (KIP) Campaign
We are making great strides with our KIP Campaign.  This campaign was created 1 year ago to promote education in Angola through a 2 step campaign.  The first stage is our collection of school supplies.  Our goal is to have enough backpacks filled with school supplies for 400 children.  So far we have collected...
-31 cases of paper
-47 notebooks
-20 markers
-20 pens
-1487 pencils
-0 back packs
-51 colored pencils/pens
-Crayons  (3 cases plus the new donation)
-6 packets of index cards
-14 mini notepads
-18 packets of post its
-6 pencil sacks
-2 pencil sharpeners
-7 paper dividers
-65 erasers
-5 rulers
-3 folders
On my last trip to Angola I delivered mosquito nets two sites.  One of those sites was the Hospital of Sanza Pombo.  I had a chance to talk to the Chief of Malaria in the hospital and realized that not only was there a great need for medical supplies to support their malaria prevention and treatment efforts but there was also a need for basic medical supplies.
I told the Chief that upon my arrival I would try my hardest to obtain some medical supplies for him and his staff so that they are better able to serve their community.

Inda Cares is conducting a hospital supply drive for that hospital so if you or someone you know has any of the items listed below please let us know.  We know that a lot of hospitals have an overabundance of medical supplies that go unused and we would love to tap into some of those resources.  With your help we can change the lives of many people who live in the province of Sanza Pombo.
