The State of the Convention
Welcome to the first ConGlomeration email newsletter. Our debut issue features a “State of the Convention†address from Chairman Sean Reck.
Greetings <<First Name>>,
It was 15 years ago that we first dreamt up ConGlomeration, and we have weathered some interesting times as we have grown to become the convention that we are today. There have been some adverse events beyond our control, some wonderful surprises and many new friends along the way. So here we sit perched on the edge of tomorrow. What does the future hold for ConGlomeration?
Hopefully, the future of ConGlomeration is all about you, in more ways than one.
For ConGlomeration 2015, we have decided to change the focus of our programming from a discussion-based format to a more hands-on, workshop approach. You can go anywhere to hear people talk about what’s going on in fandom; we want ConGlomeration to be the place you go to learn and do fandom.
We are working with our Literary track to offer several panels on how to get your stories written, published and reviewed. Our Costuming & Cosplay track is looking to provide some hands-on workshops on creating those magnificent costumes we all love to see populating the Con Suite, Game Room and Masquerade. For our Gaming panels, we will focus more on game design elements, and hopefully offer the chance to beta-test some new, in-development games. We continue to work to bring in interactive performances, just as we did last year with The Alley Theater and Ookla the Mok. All of these panels and events are designed to make you a participant, rather than just a spectator.
To accomplish these goals, we will need your help.
