Antimicrobial Resistance from Fungicide Use Can Affect Public Health

The Crop Protection Network (CPN) is pleased to announce a new online video educational series designed for Certified Crop Advisors (CCAs), researchers, industry professionals, and farmers providing streamlined and easily accessible continuing education content through a new library of regularly released content we are calling CPN TV.

The first episode of CPN TV features University of Georgia Plant Pathologist Marin Brewer as she takes a deep dive into plant associated fungi that cause human diseases and why they can be particularly problematic as they develop resistances to fungicides. This talk explores questions like: why A. fumigatus and aspergillosis is a concern for public health, where are the hotspots of antifungal resistance, and what can the agricultural community do to better mitigate these issues.

Stay tuned for more episodes throughout this month. CPN will be releasing new CPN TV content every week through January, and CCA's don't forget that many CPN TV episodes can be applied towards CCA Continuing Education credit after taking a brief quiz!

Bringing Plant Disease Forecasting Science to the 21st Century Farm

The second episode of CPN TV follows University of Wisconsin-Madison Field Crops Extension Pathologist Damon L. Smith as he discusses how he and other professionals are developing disease prediction models, how they are deployed into disease forecasting systems, and how this information makes it into the hands of farmers. Gain a deeper understanding of the science underlying disease prediction models and how disease warning systems are preparing industry professionals across the world.

Another friendly reminder to stay tuned for more episodes throughout this month. CPN will be releasing new CPN TV content every week through January, and CCA's don't forget that many CPN TV episodes can be applied towards CCA Continuing Education credit after taking a brief quiz!
