Massey researcher receives $5 million-plus to investigate pediatric obesity and cancer-related co-morbidities


Melanie Bean, Ph.D. (Ph.D.’07/H&S), LCP, a member of Massey’s Cancer Prevention and Control research program, will focus her grant support on studying traditionally underserved populations. Her research findings may be used to inform the standard of care for adolescent obesity treatment as well as for school nutrition policies and programming.

Napier Realtors ERA, under the leadership of Jim Napier, sponsors the event and has raised more $222,000 for cancer research over the past 13 years. The concert is part of the Music at Maymont summer concert series.
