Congratulations to Reunion classes!

We wish we could have celebrated Reunion 2020 in person. The School of Nursing sends heartfelt congratulations to the classes whose graduation year ends in ’0 or ’5, grand alumni and St. Philip alumnae for their respective reunion years! These classes were recognized in April on our Facebook page with photos from their class years. Add your congratulations and comments to help us recognize these special anniversaries.

We want to send an extra-big congratulations to the Class of 1970 (above), which is celebrating 50 years! Class members have donated a total of $100,000-plus in support of the Clinical Scholars Program. The School of Nursing so appreciates their fundraising efforts, and we look forward to celebrating with class members in person at a later date.

VCU School of Nursing moments of pride

We couldn’t be more proud of our VCU School of Nursing alumni who are working to keep our communities and families safe and healthy. Meet Virginia “Ginna” Slattum (B.S.’18/N), a registered nurse at VCU Health in the acute care medicine unit:

“This situation (COVID-19) is unprecedented and there is no true way to be prepared for the unknown; however, the skills I gained through school help me cope, change and practice self-care during these times as a nurse.”

Read more about Slattum’s experiences as a new nurse and how the VCU SON prepared her.
