Two New Grants to Support the AYS Share-A-Stand Music Mentorship Program

We are excited to announce that two new foundations have awarded grants to support our in-school music mentorship program, Share-a-Stand. Led by AYS Programs Coordinator, Max Mueller, this program brings AYS musicians into classrooms in Watts and Granada Hills, and provides tickets and transportation for students from the program to attend two AYS concerts each season.

Thank you to the Leo Buscaglia Foundation and Dwight Stuart Youth Fund for their support of this project!

What a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day, by bringing your loved ones to an afternoon of music and dance from the American Youth Symphony! We end this season with a concert to thank our donors for all they do in support of AYS. Unlike anything we have done before, we pair a chamber ensemble of AYS musicians performing the full ballet version of Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring, in collaboration with dancers from ArtistsPlus Productions. This performance also includes works by visionary French Baroque composer Jean-Philippe Rameau. A lovely musical treat for yourself, and the mothers in your life!
